Project Overview

Greater Sudbury Hydro will begin a significant rebuild project on Brenda Drive, just outside the Moonglow Subdivision, starting on October 7th, 2024. The project involves upgrading underground infrastructure to ensure reliable and flexible electrical services for years to come.

What to Expect

  • Start Date: October 7th, 2024
  • Civil Construction: October 7th – Mid-November
  • Hydro Crews On-Site: Until Mid-December
  • Installation: Underground ducts, cabling, subsurface structures, and pad-mounted equipment
  • Location: 456 Brenda Drive to 630 Moonrock, including work at the Brenda Drive playground.

Anticipated Impacts

Residents may experience the following:

  • Temporary noise, dust, and equipment traffic in the area.
  • Limited road access during construction.
  • Sudbury Hydro will notify you in advance of any planned power interruptions.

Why Are We Doing This?

This project is part of our ongoing efforts to replace aging infrastructure, improve system reliability, and reduce the likelihood of unexpected outages. It will also allow for greater flexibility in future repairs and upgrades.
