In January 2000, GSU became a business corporation under the rules of the Ontario Business Corporations Act, governed by a Board of Directors which is appointed by the sole Shareholder, the City of Greater Sudbury.
Three members of CGS Council and four community members sit on the Boards of both Greater Sudbury Utilities and Greater Sudbury Hydro.
Sudbury has always been Mark’s home; he was born and raised here, was educated at Cambrian College and Laurentian University, and chose Sudbury as the best place to raise his own family. Mark is the owner and lead financier of an equipment financing company.
As a paramedic, René has provided front-line pre-hospital care for 23 years. In 2002 he became a full-time professor, and since 2007 he has been the Program Coordinator for Collège Boréal’s Paramedic Program.
Natalie Labbée – Councillor, Ward 7

Natalie is a passionate, dynamic and engaged community leader with experience in Volunteer Management, Community events planning, and Administration for over 28 years. Natalie has lived in Greater Sudbury since 2014 and is currently the Assistant Manager at a Seniors Active Living Centre.
Martin Lajeunesse
Director – Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Martin studied political science at the University of Ottawa. He was the co-executive director at the Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario for eight years and was one of the cofounders of the Place des Arts du Grand Sudbury. He now works on economic development policy.
Fern Dominelli
Director – Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc.
Executive Director of NOSDA and retired CAO of the Manitoulin-Sudbury DSB after 40 years in public service. He spent 18 years with the Ministry of Community & Social Services and continues to serve on several boards and community organizations across Northern Ontario.
Jhonel Morvan EAO, M.Ed., Ph.D. Cand.
Director – Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc.
Jhonel has an extensive background in education in Canada and internationally. He has joined the Sudbury French catholic school board (CSC Nouvelon), as a Superintendent of Education, since November 2021. Before coming to the North, he held management positions at the Ontario Public Service. Jhonel is currently working towards finishing his PhD in Educational Leadership with a focus on equity in school mathematics.
Josh Lilley

Josh is a professional engineer (electrical) with fourteen years of experience. He has worked for Hatch since 2001 on various sized projects in the mining sector across North America.
